Hero Product 24th February

I came across this little number in John Lewis a couple of weeks ago and I keep putting it into my online shopping basket because it is just so nifty.

It has a touch operated system within the base which operates three levels of lighting - the first a soft glow, a second for more ambience and then a fully light bright and warm light. SO useful in almost any room where you are trying to layer up lighting to get the right vibe. I am thinking of having it in the hall as I have just the spot to sit it so I can easily ding it as I stumble around in the dark when I get in from work.

John Lewis, priced at just £45

Look of the week - Traveller Chic

Today's Look of the Week is all about the traveller / world vibe. It's a style I absolutely love as it's about being eclectic, and filling your home with treasures collected over years of adventures.

Of course you don't have to have a world tour under your belt to achieve it in your own home, the look can be easily cheated using treasures from the high street instead. Here is a room which sparked my inspiration and I think totally embodies the trend. Keep scrolling to check out ideas on how you can recreate a similar look...

Its difficult to exactly explain why a mish mash of colours, pattern and styles work in this situation, but I think the key is to keep the basics clean; soothing white walls and natural fabrics help do  this. Also, the use of one accent colour, in this instance red, helps to keep things feeling unified. The black and white pops make the scheme feel that touch modern too.
